Last week I have watched some tapes at Amsterdam form christening-, wedding- and deathregisters of the church at Giubiasco (near Bellinzona) in Switserland. No sign of Antonius Joannes Suanet. Though I found in the year 1736 a christening of a Zannetti, no link to Antonius Joannes and his parents. I don't give up!!!

Heemskerk, 10 february 2002, Ron Suanet.

In the autumn half turn I've been with Dirk Houtepen (the person who supports me with a lot of photo's of the Suanet-family) to the province archive of Antwerpen. We found there a book about the history of the Belgium place Retie (Rethy) in which we found important information about the occupation of Antonius Joannes Suanet. See for further information the chapter The Suanet family/History.

With the help of the in Italy living dutchman Wil Sciarone I'm now searching for churchregisters around Bellinzona to find the bearthregister of Antonius Joannes Suanet (born 1737 at Bellinzona!?). I'm looking for villages "in" Bellinzona. Now I'm looking at : Arbedo, Carasso, Camorino, Gorduno, Castione, S.Antonio, Pianezzo, Gudo, Sementina and Giubiasco.  You will here from me.

Heemskerk; 26 december 2001; Ron Suanet.

In the month of june I've been two times to an archive. The first one was my second visit to Turnhout and was very succesfull. I've copied a lot of certificates. Especially  from the Swannet tree around Turnhout.

Also I visited the state archive of Antwerp for the second time. Hereby I found about 15 new "familymembers". In Antwerp the job is not yet done. I have to copy a lot of certificates. Interesting was the birth of Paulina and Charlotta Suanet. They were called "Potters" (mothers surname) on the birthcertificates. In both cases two weeks later the "father"? Amandus Carolus Henricus Suanet as yet acknowledged  the daughters by signing an "certificate of admission". Amandus Carolus Henricus Suanet (at that moment about 70 years old) seems to be the father of the two daughters of his maid.

Heemskerk; 26 july 2001; Ron Suanet.

The films of the Chiesa Cattolica Parrocchia di Bellinzona were disapointing. No sign of Petrus Suanet and Maria Angelina and their to Turnhout moved son. I hope in the near future to find some original data about these oldest ancestors. I will search further in the near surroundings of Bellinzona to come forward in my investigation. In june I am going again to the archive of Turnhout. Maybe there is still something to find out.

Heemskerk, 25 march 2001; Ron Suanet.

In about four to six weeks I will have gained acces to films of the Church of the Mormons from the Death, Wedding and Bury books of the "Chiesa Cattolica Parrocchia di Bellinzona". I hope to find some original information about our eldest known ancestors. As soon as my inquiry is finished in these Italian and Latin films I will write about this. Till then!!

Heemskerk, 6 january 2001; Ron Suanet.

Thanks to a first visit at the State-archive of "Antwerpen" there are some (about 25) adjustments of my family and my ancestry. There are some additions in my ancestry with regards to the Suanet family. There will be more visits necessary to complete all. Especially with regards to the Swannet family I think I'll find after 1850 a lot in Antwerpen.

Heemskerk, 11 february 2001.

Thanks to a visit at the region-archive "Kennemerland" in Haarlem and an e-mail from Hans Simonis I'm a little further with my investigation of my family and my ancestry. There are some corrections in my ancestry with regards to the family Meijer.

Heemskerk, 10 december 2000.

Thanks to the database on the internet of the cityarchive of Amsterdam I have found a new familymember today. Paulina Suanet was born on the 10th of june 1893 in Antwerp (Belgium). She was a dressmaker and lived in Amsterdam from 17 march 1937. She was married to Frans van de Velde (born 10-12-1890 in Borgerhout- Belgium). It's not clear yet who were her parents. There are a few options. I will let you know further.

Heemskerk, 12 november 2000.

Today I added about 55 new persons to my family-site. They are the result of comparing the list from Dirk-Jan Houtepen en my own list. Especially the Swannet's from Turnhout are being extensioned.

Heemskerk, 17 september 2000.

At the moment my research is concentrating around the Belgium branch with the surname Swannet. Everyone who know's something about this please contact. It's a common name in Belgium but when you look to my genealogy it is a splitt off from the surname Suanet. Because the name Suanet is from Bellinzona and their in the Italian speaking zones no one uses the letter "W". Every time I am getting new information I will mention it on my site.
