A part of the census which is held on 31 may 1947 in the Netherlands was mapping of all occurring familynames in the Netherlands. The investigation, executed by the "Naamkundecommissie van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Academie van Wetenschappen (KNAW)"  under the direction of Dr P.J. Meertens, has resulted into a 15-parts publishing Nederlands Repertorium van Familienamen, published by the P.J. Meertens-Instituut at Amsterdam. The fifthteen parts, published between 1963 and 1983, are split up into eleven parts which all handle a province (the province Flevoland did not exist in 1947), and three parts for the big places Amsterdam, 's-Gravenhage and Rotterdam.

Concerning this investigation is the spreading of the name Suanet in the Netherlands checked. There were at the time of the census 36 persons with the name Suanet, both women and men. The in Belgium occurring names Swannet and Swanet are not found in the Netherlands.

Based on the data of 31 december 1997 of the "Rijksregister van het Nationaal Instituut voor Statistiek" (N.I.S.) is through the VVF-Genealogie & Computer in co-operation with the Catholic University of Leuven, departement "Naamkunde", an id. developed from where it is possible to ask information from a familyname. This id. are on the same manner collected as by the counting in 1987 with the understanding that there was a limitation in 1987: the name was only published when there where more than 5 people counted in one municipality.
